Unless you have been living under a rock for the past month, you will know that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather will be facing each other in a multi-million dollar fight on August 26. The appetite for the fight on social media is growing daily, but the ‘trash-talk’ and the mind games between these two fighters is definitely very entertaining.
At the approximate midway point for the August 26 showdown, it seems that Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, is very satisfied with how training camp has progressed. He said that Conor’s evolution is impressive as the fighter is doing more sparing than ever. Although, some pundits are saying that no matter how many rounds McGregor spars or how much he trains, what he is going to experience on the fight night with Mayweather will surely be different from anything he’s encountered. However, Kavanagh isn’t worried about that as he said “We will have done basically about 44 fight nights before fight night, so the 45th time we walk out it will seem very normal to us.
On the flip side, Floyd Mayweather uploaded a video on Instagram with his training and the following caption: “I know I’m not the same fighter I was 20 years ago, I’m not the same fighter I was 10 years ago...As a matter o fact, I’m not the same fighter I was 5 years ago, I’m just an old legend putting in work in 16 oz gloves,” Despite turning 40 earlier this year, Floyd has stayed in good shape and will be a huge challenge for McGregor.
No matter what happens in the ring, both fighters are big winners in terms of earnings, and the fans will win too. The summer period is usually dead in terms of sports, but the fans now have this social media battle between McGregor and Mayweather ahead of the big night.
Conor McGregor responded by posting a video with his training in front of a mural paint, which depicts him landing a punch on Mayweather. However, it’s hard to believe that McGregor can land that type of punch against the best defensive boxer of all time. Manny Pacquiao said “There is no way he will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd. McGregor has no chance in this fight. In fact, it could be very boring.”
McGregor can rely only on his punching skills and if he decides to break the rules, he will be slapped with a lawsuit.
