Is Mayweather Getting in the Octagon?
Could the rumours be true? Is Mayweather Getting in the Octagon?
Mayweather has made a few promises in the past and made good on them. For example, he did say he was going to beat McGregor and did just that last August when the two met up in the boxing ring in Las Vegas.
However, we also know him to come short on some of the things he says he’s going to do.
Now Mayweather is looking to try his luck in the octagon. It seems his 50-0 boxing record has him exploring other talents. Mayweather has been posting images of him barefoot and training for the UFC.
Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have been going at it on social media, but this is mainly just posturing. The question on everyone’s mind is, is Mayweather really considering entering the octagon?
Joe Rogan, a Longtime pundit, says that Dana White advised Mayweather not to join the UFC, but he still wants to make a deal.
When McGregor and Mayweather met up in August, it was the biggest boxing fight in history. In the UK the fight was broadcasted on Sky Sports and in the US, it generated an impressive 4.3 million buys.
There are rumours that the two may meet again in the octagon especially after the images of Floyd training in the octagon but some sources say that this is just Mayweather up to mischief. He also added the caption “Come at the king, you better not miss.”
McGregor, on the other hand, responded by telling Mayweather to enjoy his retirement. He said, “I am happy for Floyd and his recent announcement that he is out of these current fight negotiations.
“It is the reason I never sought the rematch in the first place. I was happy for him in retirement.
“My game is a very unforgiving one. It is not like other games. I understand entirely him staying retired. I will now carry on in my negotiations and see where it goes.
“Have a good retirement junior, now come here and give your old man a hug for old times’ sake. I’m proud of you son.”
Dana White might be able to make a fight between Floyd Mayweather and McGregor happen in the UFC. However, he believes that the outcome would be not so great for the boxing legend.
Many believe that the fight may not happen and that Mayweather is not going to come out of retirement to join the UFC at 41.
However, most people didn’t think that McGregor would enter the boxing ring as well yet it materialised on August of 2017.
